MERMEX functioning is not based on calls for proposals. This programme works by projects / actions identified in the early stages.
The consortium is open to new members. If someone is interested to join the programme, he should contact the scientists in charge of actions to check the relevance of the project proposal.

The programme is subject to annual review.
Organization:
- In close cooperation with a Steering Committee, a Scientific Council ensures identification of priorities, monitoring actions and scientific evaluation.
- The Steering Committee prepares and prioritizes funding applications and interacts with the Scientific Council for evaluations. It includes project leaders and managers of scientific programmes.
- The Project Office provides centralized management of funding sources, internal and external communication activities and archiving of expertise and feedback.
